Meat and Livestock Australia Limited (MLA) is a producer-owned company that provides services to Australian livestock producers, processors, exporters, foodservice operators and retailers. MLA has around 34,000 livestock producer ‘members’ who have stakeholder entitlements in the company. Their mission is to develop world leadership for the Australian red meat and livestock industry. The core activities are building demand for Australian red meat, improving market access for Australian beef products and conducting research and development (R&D) to provide competitive advantages for the industry.

Meat and Wool New Zealand
|
Meat & Wool New Zealand is funded by New Zealand livestock producers through levies on all beef, sheep and goats slaughtered and on all wool sold. This income is used primarily to increase preference for New Zealand wool and red meat internationally and domestically; to maintain and extend trade access for New Zealand wool and red meat; in funding research and development to provide solutions that will help improve New Zealand farm returns, and to provide wool technical advice.

The Department of Primary Industries brings together: expertise in agricultural research, management and education of the former NSW Agriculture; the aquatic resource management and conservation skills of the former NSW Fisheries; the regulatory, geoscientific and minerals resource management expertise of the former Department of Mineral Resources; and, the Public Trading Enterprise responsible for sustainably managing public native forests and plantations, formerly State Forests of NSW.

The Department of Primary Industries' (DPI) purpose is to promote the sustainable development of primary industries for the benefit of all Victoria. Every day, primary industries touch the lives of everyone through the food we eat; the clothes we wear; the electricity and gas we use at home and work; and the buildings we live in. The wealth and employment generated from primary industries play an important part in shaping and strengthening the quality of life for current and future generations of Victorians. DPI was established in December 2002 and employs 2,657 staff who work from 87 locations across the State.
