Management Committee - Beef CRC - Beef Genetic Technologies

The Management Committee brings together the Beef CRC's Program leaders, Chief Scientist, CEO and Company Secretary.

Dr Heather Burrow, Chief Executive Officer
Dr Burrow has more than 28 years quantitative genetics R&D experience, specializing in genetic improvement of tropically adapted beef cattle. She has 12 years management experience in the Beef CRC with 5 years as Deputy CEO. She is committed to delivery of results to industry.

Professor Mike Goddard, Chief Scientist
Professor Goddard, is a Professorial Fellow in animal genetics with a joint appointment from University of Melbourne and DPI Victoria. Mike’s research on genetic improvement of dairy and beef cattle and pigs and application of genomics to genetic improvement has broad application and global recognition.

Mr Neil Scholes-Robertson, Business Development Manager
Mr Scholes-Robertson holds a Bachelor of Business and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He has extensive financial and accounting experience in both Chartered Accounting and corporate organisations.

Professor David Pethick, High Quality Beef for Global Consumers
David Pethick is a Professor in Biochemistry and Nutrition from Murdoch University, WA. He has extensive experience in the application of biochemistry to meat quality and is a key member of the MSA management team.

Associate Professor Wayne Pitchford, Feed Efficiency, Maternal Productivity and Responsible Resource Use
Wayne Pitchford is an Associate Professor in Animal Science at the University of Adelaide. He has 15 years experience in beef cattle genetics research. He was a member of the Executive Committee in Beef CRCII.

Dr Drewe Ferguson, Adaptation and Cattle Welfare
Drewe Ferguson is a Research Scientist with CSIRO Livestock Industries at Armidale. He has over 15 years experience in beef research. He was a member of the Executive Committee in Beef CRCII.


Mr Jim Walkley, Female Reproductive Performance
Mr Walkley is a research manager with QDPI&F with extensive experience in sheep and beef cattle genetic improvement. Jim was also a Program Manager in CRCII

Ms Sarah Meibusch, Chief Operating Officer - Commercialisation Sarah Meibusch has returned to her roots in the beef industry following successful stints in the human and animal bio-technology arena. Ms Meibusch has extensive experience in commercialising human health and animal science products in Australia and the United States.
