Science Academy elects BeefCRC Chief Scientist - Beef CRC - Beef Genetic Technologies

Seventeen of Australia’s leading scientists were honoured by election to the Australian Academy of Science in early 2011.

Among them was Professor Michael Goddard (right) from the University of Melbourne, who is also the Beef CRC’s Chief Scientist.

He was awarded “for his work in quantitative genetics, with innovative use of genetic markers and statistical genetic methods to reveal the genetic architecture of complex traits for agriculture.”

Michael has been involved in all three Beef CRCs as a program manager and more recently as Chief Scientist.

Election to the Australian Academy of Science recognises a career that has significantly advanced, and continues to advance, the world’s scientific knowledge.
