What is a Beef Profit Partnership (BPP)?
A Beef Profit Partnership is a group of people who are interested in improving the profitability of their beef business. BPPs have been formed throughout Australia and New Zealand with the support of specialist expertise to guide and assist members.

Who’s involved in Beef Profit Partnerships?
We have producers, from both large and small enterprises, agricultural specialists, economists and scientists all involved in Beef Profit Partnerships across Australia and New Zealand.

What will I get out of being a member of a Beef Profit Partnership?
You will be given the skills and knowledge of harnessing your thinking and action taking to improve the profitability of your beef business. An opportunity to develop networks of other beef businesses across Australia and New Zealand is also available to you.

What does it mean to be a member of a Beef Profit Partnership?
To be in a Beef Profit Partnership, it means that you are committed to improving the profitability of your beef business. It means participating in scheduled BPP team meetings, focusing on opportunities to improve profit and taking action to implement some of these opportunities. It means that you are committed to sharing your experiences in improving profit with others in your BPP and tracking relevant changes in the key drivers of profit and productivity. You will also have the opportunity to share your results and experiences with other BPP teams in a BPP Regional Forum.

How is a Beef Profit Partnership different to other beef groups?
A Beef Profit Partnership concentrates on focusing your thinking and taking action. Each member then measures the results of taking action and is able to determine new areas of improvement or impact in their beef enterprise.

What is Continuous Improvement and Innovation?
In general terms, it is a thinking process. However it is more than that, it’s about focusing thinking and action. We can think as much as we like, but if we don’t take action, nothing happens.

What training is available to learn Continuous Improvement and Innovation?
Capacity Building workshops and training sessions are regularly held at different venues across Australia and New Zealand. Resources for self-learning are available on the Beef CRC’s website … www.beefcrc.com.au.

What is a Continuous Improvement and Innovation Tool?
The Continuous Improvement and Innovation process relies on ensuring you can focus your thinking and action. To do this, there are various “tools” available to you. These tools are methods and practices to ensure your thinking and action is focussed. A range of tools that can be used in the continuous improvement and innovation process are available here.

What sort of things should I be focusing on in my business?
We can help you determine your focus by using some simple continuous improvement and innovation tools. You focuses should be areas that would have an impact on your business and you feel you are able to influence or change.

Will I have access to the best information available from the Beef CRC and its partners?
Yes. Each BPP member has access to the latest scientific results from the Beef CRC as well as experts from other fields that will help you in your beef enterprise.

Who will see my business enterprise information?
Your information on your beef business will be shared with other members in your Beef Profit Partnership. What does the Beef CRC do with the information collected by each Beef Profit Partnership?
The Beef CRC has a team of specialists, including economists, who analyse the information to measure the impact of your progress and changes on the whole of the beef industry in Australia. The information will also be provided back to you for your benefit in measuring your progress.

What if I need more assistance with my financial recording?
We can help you. Each Beef Profit Partnership has specialist help through an agricultural expert and economists. If you would like some help with your financial recording, then help is just a phone call or email away.

When should I see an improvement in my business?
Depending on your focus, it is possible to see an improvement in your business straight away.

How long does it take to measure a change in my business?
To make the measuring and recording process easy, we have a number of tools that will help you. Some tools require a simple measure on a scale of 1-10, others may require a little more.

 

What networking is available to members of a Beef Profit Partnerships?
Members of a BPP have access to feedback and information from across the Beef Profit Partnership network. To interact with other members is as simple as a phone call or an email. There are also more formal activities such as Regional Forums held in each state.

Will I be able to meet other members of a Beef Profit Partnership?
Yes. Regular communication and feedback will be available to you through your Beef Profit Partnership Facilitator. If your Beef Profit Partnership would like to meet with other members, it is as simple as a phone call or email.
